In order to optimize the communication with suppliers, who are not linked to Hella via EDI, Hella developed a WebEDI-system, by which data, that have to be communicated to the suppliers like single orders, delivery call-offs or credit notes are transferred to a web-server, on which the suppliers can login themselves and where they then are able to view, print or download the data in different formats.
With the introduction of a WebEDI-system for the communication with
suppliers Hella has especially the following targets:
- Creation of a communication channel via the internet, that is similar to EDI
- Optimization of the cooperation with suppliers due to early make available of delivery call-offs, single orders and credit notes
- Optimization of processes in the incoming of goods due to use of delivery- and transport data, that is transferred from the supplier on the web-server
- Improving the data quality compared to conventional media
- Reduction of follow-up recordings and corrections
- Reduction of recording mistakes at Hella and supplier, so that also questions, misunderstandings etc. will be reduced
- Simplification of the delivery process
- High availability (7 days, 24 hours)
- Standardization via VDA (Germany) and ODETTE
(international)
| The WebEDI-system as part of the Hella-Internetportal is an essential integration-tool for suppliers, by which the cooperation in the whole supply chain is improved. |
